our wine
quality Organic estate grown wines
Over the past decade, the UK has become one of the world’s fastest-growing wine regions as a result of both a rise in temperature and the dedication and skill of our growers and winemakers.
Ewelme Hills, with its chalky soil and sunny hillsides provides optimal conditions for producing top quality English Vintages. Spanning ten acres of south-facing slopes, the vineyard is home to over 20,000 vines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Seyval Blanc grapes.
Our wine, along with the rest of our produce is organically and sustainably farmed.

A pioneering force
highly regarded English Pinot Noir
While Pinot Noir is the most widely grown grape in England, making up 33% of the total crop, the vast majority is used to make English sparkling wines, with only 10% of wine produced in England being red or rosé.
Ewelme Hills is a pioneering force in this area, and is committed to producing the first highly regarded English Pinot Noir, alongside sparkling wines – for which the vineyard’s chalk and flint soil are particularly well suited. The first bottle of sparkling from these young vines is expected in 2025.

Organic and sustainability credentials
With concern mounting over the consequences of intensive farming, and consumers’ growing interest in the environmental impact of their food, Ewelme Hills seeks to make a difference by finding new ways to grow crops sustainably.
Each element of the farm is cultivated organically and sustainably, creating an ecosystem that thrives in harmony.
Sustainability to us at Ewelme Hills means prioritising locally sourced, recycled, organically certified fertilisers, supplemented by manure from the farm’s stables.
It also means avoiding synthetic pesticides in favour of natural alternatives and allowing the grass to grow at its own pace – a practice that promotes biodiversity and supports local wildlife. Instead we grow a diverse range of grasses, herbs and legumes between the rows of vines, including cocksfoot, ryegrass, meadow fescue, sainfoin, chicory and red, white and crimson clover.
We try not to mow excessively between the vines to encourage wildflowers and wildlife – this has been done with the lawns as well. You can see the bees and butterflies all over the grass.
In the near future, we plan to utilise rainwater to sustain our vines, further expanding our sustainable practices.
Our mission is to create exceptional wines, while putting the planet first.
